Stephen B. Jeong, Ph.D., Managing Director
Stephen holds a Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational psychology from the Ohio State University and has been advising private, public, and government organizations since 2000. His expertise lies in human motivation, organizational justice/fairness perceptions, survey design and analysis, personnel selection, and training.

In addition to launching Waypoint, Stephen worked as a consultant for Towers Perrin, a global human capital consultancy and as a Senior Program Manager for Ohio State University’s Center for Education and Training for Employment (CETE). Stephen has advised dozens of Fortune 500 organizations – e.g., Research In Motion, Monster.com, McKesson, REI, Toyota, Google, Applied Materials, and AECOM – on ways to accurately diagnose organizational issues as well as devising creative solutions to improve workforce effectiveness. In years prior, he was the primary consultant to Ohio and West Virginia’s Departments of Education for the design, implementation and validation of their online Career Technical Competency Assessments (CTCA) – State-sponsored certification systems administered to more than 40 different vocational education areas.

Jeremy Welland, Ph.D., Senior Advisor
Jeremy is a senior consultant with 11 years of consulting, project management, and business development experience. For over a decade, Jeremy has managed multiple project teams, served as subject matter expert to executives, authored case studies and presented at numerous conferences. Jeremy has also designed, produced, and launched eLearning modules.

Jeremy has facilitated over 300 experiential teambuilding, training and leadership programs. Awarded outstanding design and delivery of custom services, Jeremy was twice honored with the yearly Adrian Garrison Enthusiasm Award. His expertise lies in his ability to utilize cutting-edge statistical analyses techniques (e.g., multilevel and structural equation modeling), employee engagement and safety culture surveys, leader effectiveness, training, HR scorecards, and teambuilding.

Jeremy holds an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Michigan’s top-ranked social psychology program. Wes Wu, M.A., Senior Advisor
Wes specializes in helping clients improve the effectiveness of their HR functions. He has worked with clients across a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, high tech, financial services, hospitality, entertainment/media, biotechnology, utility, insurance, and government.

Examples of representative projects include: (a) Collaboration models and implementation across HR, payroll and benefit organizations in a variety of industries; (b) Global HR service delivery design and implementation; (c) Global data warehouse design, business case and implementation; (d) HR technology vendor selection and total cost of ownership studies including talent acquisition, workforce development and learning management applications for large organizations; and (e) Merger and acquisition support including service delivery redesign, shared services implementation, and data integration.

Wes earned bachelor’s degrees in economics and Asian American studies from Pfizer College and his master’s degree in human resource management from Boston University. Wes also holds the certified employee benefit specialist (CEBS) designation. He is located in San Francisco.
